I was born in Ontario, Canada in the winter of
1973. Under the sign of Capricorn. To mix European parents not just 1, but 2
fraternal girls premature born 6 min apart. As the oldest of the two, but yet
the smallest at birth my weight 3 lbs. I fought hard to survive. Unlike most
kids who spent time with parents enjoying their childhood I grew up real fast. I
didn’t have the luxury of being happy or having open arms, hugs or having happy
birthdays. Having a father as a parent
who was a dominating, controlling with a negative attitude didn’t help in the
house either. I felt as the oldest I had to be tough to protect my mother,
sister and to do something as there were no brothers around. So I felt like a
tomboy and perhaps if I had muscles, I could fight back, and my father wouldn’t
hurt anything or anyone in the family. And I could stand up to him anytime I
wanted too. Instead I focused on what made me feel good and happy, and that was
to get out of the house. So I took up weightlifting in 1988 in high school as a
missing credit. There I went against all advices from my teachers. The
school’s mentality at that time was: “Girls should not lift weights”: BULLSHIT!
I then went to an old school GYM called MACKS GYM. The owner was MACK
MIYA a famous Japanese power lifter. I made a commitment to myself that my
father was never going to beat me or injure me if I ever did drugs, or failed a
grade in school. Trust me as a kid you don’t want to hear that when you’re
growing up, so all of my anger and feelings went into training everyday at the
gym. As a tomboy I played all the sports in the park and for downtime I played
my violin or bass clarinet. At the age of 17 I finally left home. I taught
myself how to be money conscious and had a part time job that put me through
college, I also taught myself how to cook and live on my own. It was tough. I
took up Tae Kwon Do and yet still had the time to train at the gym. It was my
stress reliever. I didn’t have any role models but all I cared about was to be
happy and enjoy life. I hate stress or negative people. School wasn’t really my
thing, even the teachers knew what was going on at home, and they even helped me
get through high school classes. Then when I graduated I received my “MISS
CONGENIALITY” certificate. By then I knew how people, were really all about.
When times were rough they were there for me at PARKDALE COLLEGIATE. It was a
great high school. Call me a “SPORTY BAND” geek because I never missed school. I
know hard work pays off and it sure does. Sometimes you pick the wrong people in
your life even in relationships but hell who knew? I sure encountered many of
that in my past, but as you get older you learn from your experience.
In the year 2000 I was an oil wrestler in British Columbia and a dancer in a
bar. Wrestling happened when a business man offered me money to fight his
buddy, so I did. The club decided to take half the money. I felt I got cheated.
That’s when I decided to start making
business cards and promote myself as a wrestler. The idea of wrestling in my
place with matts started to peak my interest. I then had a free website, which
promoted my training as a bodybuilder and as a natural wrestler and also help
the club’s business. I thought at the time… hell why not it was fun. I did how
ever have the privilege of meeting Shelia Burgess in a bodybuilding show who
then introduced me to the “list” .She said get on that list! So I did. Then I
decided great! I have some skills in wrestling from the bar but what if I was in
danger? So that’s when I was introduced to a guy who’s name was DALE F a kick
boxer and a well known MMA guy around BC who worked with Steven Segal and Chuck
Norris in the film industry . He knew I enjoyed fighting and seen me fight. He
suggested that I train with GIBSON (UFC 26) an instructor who fought in the UFC
26. He introduced me to, two Black belts MMA guys to train me so I would be
ready in Jujutsu and I would know how to be safe. Even as a chick I just wanted
to be tough and I would never have a man attacking me or another woman. I just
wanted to be ready for the unexpected.
In 2002 the club shutdown and I was ready and trained to become a
wrestler/fighter. Boston, Mass was my first out of town trip, and I would love
to say thanks from the bottom of my heart. You believed in me, and also to my
great friend Kristie Etzold. I looked up to her a lot. She is a wonderful
wrestler who taught me the ropes... Literally.
I
realized that many companies didn’t have faith in me as a natural bodybuilder
when I asked to fight or model they told me I’m not well known or I’m not big
enough and one company said I was “TOO FAT”! I guess when your different you
sure get judged a lot. But that didn’t stop me from enjoying wrestling and
having fun and meeting so many great fans. I would love to say thanks in
believing in me. I am still meeting great fans to this day. Trust me you will
not be disappointed in my charisma, if you decide to come to my area. I’m one of
the most rare, powerful, natural, sweet honest real people you’ll ever meet. But
I’m also a straight shooter. Which means I tell it the way it is? I don’t like
stress or BULLSHIT.
